It is VERY important now to push the electric car market, so that the demand puts these beauties on the road fast. Otherwise, the car companies will stop making them, or at least slow development of the technology.
So, now is the best time to buy or lease an all electric car. I did look at the hybrids but they are nowhere near as impactful, I believe, or as satisfying as just walking away from Big Oil altogether.
There are big forces working against the electric car and we have seen these forces at play in our current election, with the now infamous Koch Brothers spending a cool billion on their candidate this year (the Kochs are notorious criminal big oil polluters). Even here in California, the pressure the oil industry has exerted on us is scary. That is precisely why the air resource board backed down on their commitment to demand 4% ZEV cars from the automakers.
You can push back by making this powerful commitment AND you can save money, save someone’s breath, save a mountain in the Appalachia’s and make yourself very happy indeed. Watch this and rejoice!
